Marines US Citizen

Once your a US citizen can you petition family members and how many?Im in the Marines, does it help?

So my brother (age25) doesn’t have legal papers to work in the US but has a daughter born here and his gf was born here now he needs my help to request him so he can become at least a resident or citizen. Now my dad has a resident card and is trying to become a citizen, can i ask for both of them and how many ppl can i ask for to bring to the US? For bein a US Marine is it going to influenze the decisions in any way?

Once you become a US Citizen, you can petition your brother through F4 visa category but the waiting time for the process is very long and he has to come back to your native country. He might have difficulty too because he has been to the US illegally. He cannot file for Adjustment of Status through his girlfriend since they are not married. If they are married and he entered the US legally and has overstayed, he has the option of having his US citizen wife to file I-130 and he can file for Adjustment of Status (I-485) but he shouldn’t leave the US until after he get his green card.As for your father, since he is already a Permanent Resident he has to qualify for his residency requirements before he can apply for naturalization. For an active member of the US Armed Forces, you are only required to comply with the 100% Poverty Guidelines if you will sponsor an immediate relative.
