royal marines commando training
Firefighter vs Royal Marines?

Am I mad? I’m currently a wholetime firefighter 400 miles from my family and most of my friends. I love my job but can’t stand being so far away from those who mean the most to me. I’m thinking of quiting the brigade (which everyone says would be stupid) and joining the Royal Marine Commandos (the training base in Plymouth is 30 mins from my family). I could put my name down on the brigade transfer list back to my home county but the waiting list is something like 4/5 years due to the popularity! Input from anyone who has experience in either job would be appreciated.

i would imagine that if you go for the royal marines then when you have served your time with them your going to be to old to go back to the brigade anyway,my answer is biased because Ive served with 45 royal marine commando during my service in the military but if joining the military is going to be your choice then there is no finer unit then her Majesty’s ROYAL MARINES,good luck
